B45 – What will it be for you?

It was a momentous day for CML on Saturday morning when the first Buckley Boats designed B45 hull was turned ready for the decks, cockpit and cabin top to be fitted before the internal fit out can begin. The boat currently being built at Composite Mouldings in Marchwood will be the first of the larger sailing boats being developed in house. Currently CML are also building the Simon Rogers designed Sports 700, a 7 metre skiff, two of which are due to be completed this summer.

The B45 Being turned over by King Lifting
The B45 (48ft LOA, hull length 45ft for docking) will be a light weight cruising boat which will mix luxury family cruising but will still be able to perform. The first boat is being constructed from strip plank cedar with epoxy sheathing on both sides and Kevlar below the waterline (an added safety feature after feedback of increase in damage to smaller sea going vessels from waste). The strip plank hull will bring an aesthetically pleasing addition to the current line up of boats in its class being produced from composites however when the boat goes into production CML plan to infuse the boat with epoxy and a high density PVC core which can be sprayed.
