Composite Mouldings Ltd (CML) has been contracted by UK based Patriot Boats to streamline the development of its new 11m RIB. This new luxury RIB is another performance model from the company.

Set up in 2005 by 2 ex-offshore powerboat racers, Patriot Boats is developing a track record for high performing and efficient Rigid Inflatable Boats ranging in size from 7-8.5m. This new design will be the company’s largest boat so far and has progressed from client interest in a larger luxury RIB that has performance and usability. Current interest is in bespoke boats for private use, a super-yacht tender and racing team support boat.

“Patriot has been building bespoke high quality RIBS with CML for high profile clients” says Guy Newton of Patriot. “This exciting new design will provide high performance with sure handling and accommodate a clients bespoke requirements. We are delighted with CML’s design input. Their facilities and experience complement our aims in every way as we increase our plans to launch into the retail market. The advance in their design input was fundamental in our choice of partner”.

Mike Dean, Technical Manager for CML, says “It’s great to be getting more involved with the design work on projects. There is always an element of design support and advice at CML, for our clients, but we are steadily increasing our credentials with the design aspect of the business”.

CML has an in house design team, to deal with planning and day-to-day design issues that arise in production.

Patriot Boats plans to launch the 11m model, the Patriot Bonito, later this year.
