15m Mod Police Boat No 3 underway

This model is the first of a new generation of boats built for the MoD Police to provide patrol and escort duties for the three major UK naval bases. The GRP hull is moulded by CML, with further major mouldings making up the deck, superstructure and accommodation space sole. The mouldings are then sent to Holyhead Marine for the fit out.  Jets are used to provide high speed and manoeuvrability and the Rolls-Royce Vector Stick system employs joysticks to give impressive and easy control from the main helm and flybridge positions.

Composite Mouldings Ltd have now begun to manufacture the mouldings for the third boat.

Working closely with Lloyds Register, CML have successfully brought the mouldings in at 1% of the target weight through weight controlled work. All material weights are recorded when taken on and off the job. The boat is powered by Twin CAT C18 and can reach speeds of 33knots at 19.9 tonnes.
